This mosquito looking (and in fact sized) chopper is a prototype surveillance camera, initially designed for military use, and is capable of being operated remotely like a helicopter. The coin pictured next to it in the picture gives you an idea of it’s size.
Although principally for military use it is being adapted for other Law Enforcement and emergency services applications. It is powered by an electric motor, has rotor blades that are 10cm in diameter, has a top speed of 20mph and weighs only 15g.
At the moment it is designed to carry a camera, but a microphone is being added shortly – and who knows what else next. !?!?!?!?
